A Lazy Saturday!

Good Saturday, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a wonderful day. Chloe and I are enjoying some rest today. It has been the busiest week with schools and a new book coming out! Right now we are sitting between Mom and Dad watching the CATS take on LSU. We are ahead by 3 points! YEAH! Anyway, I don't have long, but since it was a time-out, I wanted to say "ARFF!"

On Thursday or this past week, we spent the day at Vine Grove Elementary in Hardin County. It was a perfect day. There was only one problem - I forgot to put the camera in my Scooby backpack. Therefore, I don't have any pictures to post. Some of the teachers said they would try to send me some photos. Once we get them, we will put them on the web. Speaking of pictures, I just sent Mr. Nathan (the man who takes care of our website) a whole stack of pictures from so many of our visits. Therefore, be sure to check the photo page to see our new pictures. There are some pretty pictures of Chloe. (It may be several days before the new pictures show up, but we wanted you to know to look for them!)

This is a picture of one of our favorite people, Mr. Browning. Mr. Browning loves us, Mom and Dad, and the WILDCATS! (See his sweater!) He lives close to Junction City Elementary, so the day of our visit, he came to see us.

I better go. The time-out is over. There are four minutes left in the game and we are now tied! Chloe says she needs my help cheering!

A Very Exciting Day at Junction City!

Hey WoodyWatchers! Hope you are all having a super Wednesday! Even though we didn't have a school today, our day has been very busy! I will tell you why in a minute, but first I want to tell you about the very special day we had yesterday.

Remember last week when Chloe and I were supposed to visit Junction City Elementary in Boyle County and school was called off due to snow? Well, yesterday we were able to spend the day and evening at JCES with all our friends! It was a super day to say the least! There were signs and banners and posters all along the halls telling us how excited they were to see us! Chloe and I felt extra-special! They also had paw-prints on the floor so Chloe and I could remember how to get to and from the gym and the cafeteria! That was really a big help. I must say however that Chloe and I stayed OUT of the cafeteria once we saw the lunch menu for the day! You guessed it - corn dogs!!! We received so many cards and letters and treats from the students and teachers! The principal even gave Chloe and me red JCES bandanas! The preschool students sang to us too! I could go on for days and days and days about how great our day was. I included a few pictures so you could see for yourself! I will post the other pictures in our photo section real soon! A very special puppy kiss to Ms. Pennock, Ms. Powell, Ms. Morris, and all the staff and students at JCES! It will be a day we will NEVER forget!!!

"Why did you have a busy day, Woody?" you ask. Well, our brand new book was finally delivered today. "Woody, The Kentucky Wiener: TAILS from the Bluegrass" was released a few days ago, but we had not received all the copies. Today, a big truck carrying 5,000 books came to our house. The truck driver knocked on our door and said, "Are you Woody? Well, here is your new book!" Chloe and I were so excited! We know you are going to love it!

I better say goodbye for now. Tomorrow we will be at Vine Grove Elementary in Hardin County. Our first assembly begins at 7:45 in the morning. Therefore, Chloe and I have to go to bed soon!

I will blog again in a day or two. In the meantime, Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Friday at Freedom

Hey WoodyWatchers! Can you believe it is Saturday morning and Chloe and I are watching is snow again? It seems like it has been snowing every Saturday for the past few weeks. We aren't complaining though, we love the snow!

We had such a treat yesterday! We were at Freedom Elementary, right here in Bullitt County. In fact, Freedom is located about 2 miles from our home! It was fun to get up and drive only a minute or two to arrive at our school. Mommy and Daddy particularly loved it since Chloe and I didn't have long to ask "Are we there yet?" Anyway, it was a great day to be with our fellow Bullitt County friends!

Here is a photo that Dad took of Mommy, Chloe, and me with the first grade students in Mrs. Tobbe's class. They were so friendly and respectful. In fact, they wrote Chloe and me the sweetest letters. Mom and Dad read them to us last night. We may have to put a few under the "Letters to Woody and Chloe" section of our website!

I better say goodbye for now and get started on my Saturday morning chores. Hope you are all having a great day! Enjoy the weekend and WORK and DREAM LIKE A BIG DOG!

Adair, Allen, Anderson...

Good Thursday, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are in the beginning of a great day! We just finished our breakfast, so I thought I would take a minute to tell you what a great day we had yesterday!

The four of us were at the Academy for Individual Excellence in Louisville. It was the neatest school. It had kids of all ages, though our time was spent with the kindergarten through eighth grade. We were so impressed. You know how Chloe and I are trying to make it to every county? Well, these students can recite all 120 counties in Kentucky in alphabetical order! Isn't that great??? Chloe and I decided we were going to try to memorize the counties in order. As you can see from the title, we have the first few down!!!

While we had some time between classes, Ms. Pam took us on a tour of the building. We were a bit scared when we saw the creatures in the science lab - like the snake - but it was too neat to be scared for long. (Besides, Mommy assured me the snake was locked tightly in the cage!)

The only bad part of the day was that Dad was sick. He went with us - we can't make it without him - but he kept his distance. He has a really nasty cold. He didn't want to spread his germs, so he was out of sight yesterday. Mommy called the vet, I mean doctor, to get him some medicine. He should be himself again soon!

We included a picture from yesterday. As you can see, the sun was shining brightly outside yesterday, and made a shadow on our photo. I was in the middle of some pretty cool students!

Tomorrow we will be at Freedom Elementary. We will be sure to tell you all about it!

Have a great day! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, WoodyWatchers! We hope you have had a great day! We certainly have! Chloe loved the heart I made for her! She made me a card too! It was in the shape of a dog-bone. Mommy and Daddy gave us some of our favorite treats! YUMMY!

Chloe and I asked Daddy if he would help us with Mommy's Valentine. We had saved our allowance so we could each give Mommy one yellow rose - her favorite. Dad took this picture of us making sure the roses smelled just perfect before we gave them to Mommy! She just loved them. She picked us up and hugged and kissed us for the longest time. It was the perfect day! It even gets better. Mommy said she was making chicken and dumplings for us. Chloe and I can't wait!

Tomorrow is a school day, so after dinner it is off to bed! We will post some pictures from our school tomorrow so stay tuned!

Don't forget to tell your family that you love them! Have a great Valentine's Day!

Another Snow Day!

Good Monday WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I hope you are having a fantastic Monday! We were up really early this morning ready to go to Junction City Elementary when Mommy's phone rang. It was Mrs. Pennock - a teacher from Junction City - saying school had been called off due to snow. Chloe and I were so disappointed! We were certainly looking forward to the day - especially when we heard the preschool students had prepared a song for us! Mommy and Daddy said not to worry. We were going next Tuesday to see our friends at Junction City! We are so excited about our visit to Junction City! We will let you know all about the song!

There was only one good part of receiving the phone call. Mommy was just getting ready to brush my teeth when the phone rang! When she learned we weren't having school, she said, "Woody, you can go back to sleep for a little while before we brush your teeth!" I love my mommy!!! Chloe and I crawled in our favorite blanket and slept for a few more hours!

I have to go now. I am still working on a Valentine for Chloe. Daddy said he would help me cut out the perfect shaped heart! I know she will love it!

Talk to you later! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A snowy Saturday!

Good Saturday Morning! Chloe and I just finished our breakfast and are now watching the snow fall! It is so pretty! We are hoping to put on our scarves and sweaters and play in the snow a little later! Can you say "Chilly Dogs?"

Well, we had another fantastic week last week! Thursday found the four of us at Clear Creek Elementary in Shelbyville, Kentucky! That was a beautiful school! It was brand new and very pretty! I made sure to mind my manners and not have an accident like I did a few days earlier at Christ the King School! (I am still embarrassed about that!!!)

We thought we would show you a few pictures from Clear Creek! The first is of a bulletin board that the school had displayed in our honor. Mrs. Karen Standafer (and lots of other teachers - too many to name) did a super job planning for our visit! This board made us feel right at home!

The second photo is of our new friend David! Mommy asked David a question and he answered with "Yes Ma'am!" That made us all so happy! Dad asked if he could take David's picture so we could brag on his terrific manners!!! You know how Chloe and I love kids with manners!!! Keep up the good work, David!

Well, Dad just came in from checking out the snow! He said it was cold and slippery! He also said if we helped Mommy by picking up our toys, then he would take us out to make "Snow Dogs!"

Have a great Saturday! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Hey WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I wanted to take the time to say "Arff, Arff", and to tell you what a great day we had yesterday. We were at Christ the King School in Lexington. Everyone was so friendly and respectful - not to mention lots of fun! The best part of our day however was our hostess! That's right, Chloe and I had our own special hostess named Sarah. Sarah made sure that Chloe and I were where we were supposed to be, when we were supposed to be there! She introduced us to the teachers and the students, and even introduced Mommy in the assemblies. The one photo you see is of Mommy, Chloe, Sarah, Sarah's dad, and me. Sarah's dad even helped our Dad unload the Woody Bus! Let me just say that Dad loved that!!! He usually has to do that all by himself. (Mom, Chloe, and I don't have the greatest muscles!!!) Anyway, we loved being with Sarah so much that Chloe and I wanted to hire her to travel with us full-time. Mom reminded us that she needed to be at her own school every day. Mom's are always right!!! (By the way, notice how in the photo I am straining my neck to see how TALL Sarah's dad is!!!)

The other picture was taken in a fourth grade classroom at Christ the King. Mommy was talking about the writing process when I looked over and saw a map of Kentucky with all of these towns marked. I thought, "Hey, that looks like all the stops we made while our our TAILS tour." I was right. The fourth grade tracked our travels while we toured the Bluegrass!

As you can see, it was a perfect day! We hope to see our friends at Christ the King again soon!

While in Lexington, we thought about staying over and going to Rupp Arena to watch the CATS take on Tennessee. We decided against it. Dad said it was a late night for two wiener dogs. Anyway, we came in second to Tennessee. I guess you can't win them all!!! Anyway, I better go. Tomorrow we will be at Clear Creek Elementary in Shelbyville. We will tell you all about it in a day or two!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!!!

Hey WoodyWatchers!!! Hope you had a great weekend! We had lots of emails asking if Chloe and I watched the Super Bowl. Well, we watched the first quarter, then woke up this morning! We aren't great at staying up late!!!

Chloe took this photo of me today. I love getting the paper each week and reading "Woody, The Kentucky Wiener: BIG DOG MYSTERY!" This is a copy of "The Henry County Local". If you haven't read Big Dog Mystery yet, it is not too late. It is still in the beginning chapters! Get a copy of your paper today and see if it is in there!

I better sign off. Tomorrow we will be at Christ the King School in Lexington, KY. Our clock is set early, which means Chloe and I will be in the bed soon. Dad has been packing the Woody Bus making sure we have all our supplies. We will try to post some pictures from Christ the King School. Therefore, stay tuned!

Have a great night!

Happy Belated Ground Hog Day!

Hi Friends! Hope you had a great Ground Hog Day yesterday. Chloe and I sure did. We were a bit surprised that we didn't receive any gifts, but Mom says that nobody celebrates Ground Hog Day. It just has to do with winter. Oh well... Hope it was super for you anyway!

Today is Friday and Chloe and I are catching up on rest. We arrived home last night after spending the day and evening with the students at Tates Creek Elementary in Lexington. It was too fun! We were surrounded by Wildcat Fans! (By the way, did you see that UK won another game on Wednesday night???)

This is a photo of our friend Holly. Holly attends St. Charles Middle School in Marion County. We were at St. Charles this past Tuesday. Holly kept up with all of our "Tails". She even made her own scrapbook. It was so fun to meet Holly.

I better go. Daddy said before we can watch Lassie, we must pick up our toys and help Mommy with the housework! I want to be finished with my chores so I can hide under the couch while Mommy runs the vacuum cleaner!!! Have a great day!
