More Exciting Preditions

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! We hope this finds you enjoying a sunny Sunday afternoon! I just woke up from a Sunday afternoon nap and boy do I feel rested!

Chloe and I love receiving email - especially comments and predictions regarding our current story, "Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington." Our fifth grade friends from Holiday Elementary in Hopkinsville, KY wrote to Chloe and me prediting what our next adventure in D.C. would be. Take a look at their responses:

I think Woody and his family will wake up and go to the White House. I think this because Woody seemed so excited and he thought that might be one of the places they would go. Hannah

They take pictures of all the stuff in Washington, D.C. and see the White House. Maxie

I think they will go to the Lincoln Memorial or the White House because the White House is a good place to learn. I think he will go to the Lincoln Memorial because Lincoln is a good war President. Hunter

I think that he is going to go to the other side of Washington, D.C. Sierra

I think Woody and Chloe and their parents are going to the White House and meet the President. Greer

They are going to the White House because they want to see the President. Kathleen

I think Woody is going to the White House because he might want to see the President at the White House. Jaila

I think he and his mother are going to see the Capitol. Dijonae

Go to the White House to see Mr. President. Devante

I think Woody will go see the White House because the President lives there and Woody would love to see him. Ellen

I think he is going to the White House. Josh

It seems that visiting the White House is overwhelmingly the favorite prediction! Will we visit the White House??? Guess you will have to read to see!

I better say goodbye for now. I will be sure to write more in a bit! I always have exciting things to tell you!

Have a great day! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A Day at Cornerstone Christian School

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a great Wednesday. Chloe and I are staring out the window watching it rain. What a sight to see! We haven't seen the rain in a while! It doesn't even matter that we get wet when we go outside to - well, you know...

Yesterday we spent the day in Lily, KY at Cornerstone Christian. It was a terrific day. Everyone was so friendly and respectful! It was a busy day since KET (Kentucky Educational Television) was with us to film more footage (don't you like that TV talk???) for our segment on Kentucky Life. It was so exciting to see our friends from KET again, as well as meet new friends at Cornerstone. If that wasn't cool enough, The Times-Tribune from Corbin and The London Sentinel Echo newspaper was there too. It was a party!!! Mrs. Angie Fischer planned a wonderful day for us. She even gave us this great gift basket that had tons of goodies. We had fun going through all the treats on the way home.

Speaking of home, we returned home around 10:30 last night. We are packing up again, this time heading to Paducah and then Murray. We can't wait! I get to see my Granny and my cousins tonight. I will take lots of pictures!

Have a great day! Enjoy the rain, and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington

Arff, Arff again, WoodyWatchers! Right after I wrote in my dairy a few minutes ago, I received an email from my friends at Holiday Elementary in Hopkinsville, KY. They are faithful readers of our new story. Anyway, they also read Chapter 1 and wrote what they thought would happen in the story. Take a look at their comments:

I think they will meet the President. Timothy

I think Woody will finish the coloring book he was working on and then fall asleep. Then he will not get to go. Stanley

I think they are going to Washington, D.C. I also think they are going to see the President. Teveca

I think that next time Woody is going to mind his manners and say sorry to his mom. Aaron

Woody will get out of the dog house and go to D.C. Mason

I think Woody will go to Washington and meet the President. Oksana

I think he will meet the President in Washington, D.C. Tyree

I think that Woody will go to the White House and meet the President. And he might go see the monuments. Hunter

Woody will say I'm sorry. Devante

I think Woody will say I'm sorry to Mommy. And then go to Washington. Courtney

I think Woody will meet the President when they go to D.C. Darieus

I think Woody will go to Washington next week. Colton

I think Woody will fall asleep and take a tour around the White House in his dreams. Sara K.

I think Woody and his family are going to Washington and when he gets there he is going to run off to see the President. Amy

Next week I think that they are going to Washington, D.C. Alexusia

It is so exciting to read their comments! I guess they will have to read and see!!!

Off to Lily, KY!

A Typical Monday

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! It is a typical Monday at our house. The washing machine is whirring, the dryer is buzzing, Dad is loading up the Woody Bus, and Chloe and I are making sure all our things are packed for another busy week on the road.

Tomorrow we will be in Lily, KY at Cornerstone Christian Academy. We are excited about our day! KET will be joining us to film some more for our segment on Kentucky Life. We will keep you posted on an air date. We will also be traveling to my birthplace of Paducah, Mom's birthplace of Murray, and even's Dad birthplace of Nelson County. It will be like homecoming week!!! Too bad Chloe is from Texas. It makes traveling to her birthplace a little more difficult!

Anyway, before we left on our journeys, I thought I would post a few photos from last week. The first picture is from our day at St. Romuald in Breckinridge County. These guys helped Dad with some of our equipment. Look at those muscles! The second photo is from our book signing this past Saturday at Cumberland Falls. We always love our time at Cumberland Falls. The gift shop actually had Christmas trees! I asked Mom if we could put our tree up, but she said it was a bit too early!

I better say "Arff" for now! I will write more later - promise! In the meantime, start making your Christmas list and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A Lazy Sunday Afternoon

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a great Sunday afternoon! Chloe and I are sitting here at the computer playing with the mouse! We thought we would blog a minute. Our vet, Dr. Albert, came to our house last night to give us a check-up, make sure we were brushing our teeth, and cut our nails. We aren't crazy about that part, but I must say that it is much easier to type!!! Anyway, once again we got a clean bill of health. Dr. Albert said we were as "healthy as a horse!" I don't exactly know what that means, but it must be good!

Here is another photo from our Washington D.C. trip. While checking email a few minutes ago, the following email popped in my mailbox. I asked if I could share it with you. Here you go:

Even though I'm an all grown up, listening to the adventures of Woody took me back to childhood. I plan to share this with my nephews who seem to get into the mischief as Woody as well as other family members. Can't wait for more to come!

Kenny

Isn't that neat? What does he mean I get into mischief???

If you are confused why he said "listening," well it is because he is listening to the podcast. Check it out on www.kypress.com. Click on Chloe and me and it will direct you on how to listen. If you are an itunes user, you can type "Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington" in the search engine of the itunes store. It is completely free, but MAKE SURE YOUR PARENTS HELP YOU!!! Mom always has to do it for me!

I better run. It is 5:30 so you know what time it is - that's right - dinner time! I don't know what we are having, but that's okay. I am starved!!!

Have a great night! Remember to brush your teeth, keep your nails trimmed, and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! I tell you - so many exciting things are happening to Chloe and me that I could blog every 10 minutes! I have lots of photos and stories to share that I don't even know where to begin!

Chloe and I have received tons of emails regarding our new story, "Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington." We get so excited when we get an email that says, "Hey Woody! We LOVE the new story! Our favorite part is..." Kentucky Press Association asked students to read our first chapter and then write what they thought would happen next. We have received many responses. We thought we would share one. Hope you enjoy!

Our 5th grade Reading Class at Bracken County Middle School thinks Woody will meet President Bush and he will take Woody's family to visit the Lincoln Memorial! The president's dog will be going along with them and Woody will find a friend to play with him. President Bush will invite all of them to go back to the White House for dinner and games on the White House lawn so the dogs will be able to play with each other!
At The Lincoln Memorial, Woody takes his paw and rubs Abraham Lincoln's foot for Good Luck! One of our students, Cole Todd, has visited and knows there is a gift shop/museum and feels Woody will want to buy his brothers and sisters back home a coloring book while touring there.
While at dinner, Woody excuses himself to go to the restroom and can't find his way back to the dining room. He gets scared and befriends one of the secret service men. They take him back to where everyone was dining, but no one was there! Woody begins to bark and his family comes running through the White House like a herd of elephants! Finally, they are all together and go out on the lawn to play Hillbilly Golf!

Students:
Sarah
Jason
Jacob
Skylar
Joey
Cole

Teacher: Mrs. Bess

Isn't this great! Chloe and I laughed and laughed! Those are great ideas! I must say however that we didn't know what Hillbilly Golf was! We did our research and learned that we had played Hillbilly Golf before - and boy was it fun!!! I guess you will have to read the story to see if their thoughts come true!!!

Thanks to Mrs. Bess and her class! Who knows? With great ideas like that, we may call them for help with our next story!

We will post other responses soon!

It is 6:00 pm and my tummy is rumbling! We spent the day at the Kentucky Library Conference and saw so many of our friends. It was great fun, but all that hugging can make a wiener dog hungry - and not to mention dog-tired!!!

Enjoy your own dinner! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

CATS, CATS, CATS!!!

Hey WoodyWatchers! You know that song that says, "I've Been Everywhere, Man, I've Been Everywhere?" Well, that's exactly how Chloe and I feel! In fact, I am having to type as fast as my feet will go since my family is waiting in the Woody Bus. We have been so busy that it has been hard to write in my diary. Last week we spent the entire week in Madisonville, KY. It was a week we will never forget! I can't wait to tell you all about it.

I also can't wait to tell you all about the big game - the CARDS vs. the CATS! Guess what? My Wildcats won! I included a photo of the Wildcat Offensive Coordinator Coach Joker Phillips holding me. Maybe I was good luck for him! The second photo is of Mom and my cousin Caroline. They were getting ready for the big game! Games are so much fun!

I better go. Tomorrow we will be in Breckinridge County at St. Romuald. I promise to tell you all about it. I am still working on the photos from August.

What about our new story? Be sure to send us an email and tell us what you think. I better go! I hear Dad starting the bus and I don't want to be left behind - or be in the doghouse!

Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! Sorry I have been a bit behind in writing in my diary! In fact, I can't believe August has come and gone and September is here! I have had so many emails saying, "What have you been doing, Woody?" So, let me try to give you the run down.

We have been busy school dogs lately. Chloe and I have been in the greatest schools! We have been everywhere from Beaver Dam to Sand Gap to Fort Thomas. I will be sure to post some photos soon. I have a pretty long "To-Do" list, and putting the photos on our site is at the top!

We love going to school and we love the weekends too! For the past two Saturdays, Chloe and I have been cheering on the Kentucky Wildcat Football Team! We won the past two games! Hip, Hip Hooray! This coming weekend is the big rivalry between the Cats and the Louisville Cardinals. It will be a battle on the field! We just love Football Time in the Bluegrass!

If all that wasn't enough, this week is a big week for our family! Our brand new story, Mr. Dogwood Goes to Washington begins. Be sure to check your newspaper to begin following the story. Also, check out www.kypress.com and listen to me read the story! I really practiced in my best voice, so I hope you like it!

Speaking of D.C., I posted a few of my favorite photos from our trip. I will post some others as the story progresses. Be sure to email Chloe and me and let us know what you think!

I better say "Arff" for now. It is bedtime and Chloe is already snoring up a storm. I can't hear myself think! We need to rest up as we will be gone all week to Madisonville, KY. I can't wait to tell you all about it!

G'night, sweet dreams, and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!
