Happy Spring!

Good Morning, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are enjoying your week! Can you believe it is now Spring? When Mommy told us on Monday that it was the first day of Spring, I thought I could put my sweater away, but later in the day, Chloe and I looked outside and it was actually SNOWING!!! It is still cold today, but at least Mr. Sun in shining!

We kicked off our week in Hazard, KY at Dennis Wooton Elementary. It was an exciting day! WYMT TV came to the school and interviewed us. It is always funny seeing ourselves on television. It never fails after we see ourselves on t.v. that Chloe doesn't ask if her hair looked okay!

We made so many friends at Dennis Wooton. We were especially excited about seeing Mrs. Libby Nolan. Mrs. Nolan teaches third grade at the school. She has a wiener dog named Penny (as well as many other animals, including a bunny named Flopsy!). Anyway, Mrs. Nolan and Mommy had been emailing each other for a few years, but had never met. It was wonderful to finally meet Mrs. Nolan. Mrs. Nolan gave Chloe and me a basket of goodies. Their was a chew toy in the basket that had my name on it! In fact, Mommy made me put it down while I typed!!! We posted some pictures of Mrs. Nolan and her third graders, my chew toy, as well as many other friends.

I better scoot! We have a busy day. We will be packing our Scooby suitcase to head to Henderson, then Crab Orchard. I will bark all about it when we return. In the meantime, Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A Win for the CATS!!!

Good Saturday, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a great day! Chloe and I have been sitting on the couch, looking out the window at the bright sun. It is sooo pretty today. It is also very cold. When Daddy took us outside to, you know, we didn't linger around! That's okay - spring is only a few days away!

We have had a great week! This is a photo from Bedford Elementary. Bedford Elementary is in Trimble County. It was a beautiful school with great kids! Chloe and I felt right at home when we walked in and saw the signs. I said, "Hey Chloe - that looks JUST like you - only much bigger!!!"

March is a fun time here at our house with all of the basketball games on. Last night, at almost 10:00, our Kentucky Wildcats took on the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mommy told us yesterday that if we wanted to watch the game, then we had to take an extra-long nap. We were sure glad we listened to her! We stayed up and watched the game, well almost all of it. Our eyes got pretty heavy at the end! I bet the boys were tired. That is late to play a game. Chloe and I have usually been in bed for hours!!! The great news is that they came in first place!!! They will play again tomorrow. We will be cheering them on!

We will be in lots of different places across Kentucky this week! Monday will find us in Hazard, KY. No, I will NOT be looking for the Dukes of Hazard this time!!! I will be sure to post some pictures and tell you all about it.

I better go. We have our Saturday morning chores to do! Have a great day! Remember to WORK AND DREAM LIKE A BIG DOG!

Another beautiful painting!

Hi Friends! It's me, Chloe! I had something exciting happen today so I wanted to tell you about it. Woody told me I should write in our diary so everyone would know.

You remember our friend Coleman - the boy who painted the great picture of Woody several weeks ago? Well, Mommy came home from the post office today and said I had a package. I couldn't wait to open it. I carefully unwrapped it and found that Coleman had painted a picture for me! It is beautiful!!! I jumped, barked, and clapped my paws! Mommy took some photos of me with the picture and then she put it on the mantle beside the picture Coleman painted for Woody. Don't you just love it???

Woody and I keep telling our friend Coleman that he is a fantastic artist!!! We met Coleman just last year. He is a great friend!

Today was so rainy, so the package made my day bright! We are getting ready to eat our dinner and take our baths. Tomorrow we will be at Bedford Elementary. We are excited to meet new friends! I am sure that Woody will tell you all about it!

In the words of my brother, "Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!"

Love,

Chloe

A Super Saturday!

Good Saturday Afternoon, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Chloe, Mommy, Daddy, and I just returned home from the mall in Elizabethtown, Kentucky! The News Enterprise invited us to the mall for a book signing. It was so much fun! We were able to see so many friends, meet new faces, and hear stories of how everyone has enjoyed "TAILS from the Bluegrass!" As you can see from the first picture, we had lots of people reading books today!

The second picture is of our friend Johnathan. Before Mommy and I wrote the Woody series, Mommy taught school in Hardin County. This was one of her former students. Mommy was so happy to see Johnathan!

The next picture is of our new friend, Ronnie. Ronnie said he loved reading the "Tails" in the paper. We told him we would put his photo on our website!

We have so many other pictures that we will try to get in the "Photo" section soon, so stay tuned!

The day was almost perfect! We say "almost" because our favorite team, that's right - the Kentucky Wildcats - lost today! We were sad. Mommy reminded us that at the end of the day it is just a ballgame. I guess she is right. Oh well...

I better go. As you can see, it has been a very busy day. Mommy said that Chloe and I need to take a nap before dinner. I think my eyes are getting sleepy. I guess I will say "Night, Night!"

Lots to BARK about!!!

Where do I begin??? First of all, thank you for all the neat birthday wishes I received!!! It was the best birthday yet!!!

Mommy, Daddy, Chloe and I have been so very busy! Since I last "blogged", we have been several places that I can't wait to tell you about! Last Thursday, we spent the day at Medora Elementary. Ms. Jasper and all the students and teachers were so sweet to us! We had a great day. The very last picture on the blog is of Ms. Jasper and us. We have received so many emails from the students at Medora. Chloe and I love opening our inbox and seeing all the emails they have sent us!

We left Medora Elementary and drove to the Louisville Fair and Expo Center to get our "doghouse" ready for our favorite show - Kentucky Crafted: The Market! It is a three day event that Chloe and I love. It is so fun to see so many of our friends that we only see once a year. We put some photos on here so you could see what our table looked like! (No, that is NOT dog food! It is Cocoa Puffs!) Mommy said we couldn't share our dog food with anybody, but we could put out some Cocoa Puffs for the kids!!!) Anyway, we saw lots of friends. One of our favorite friends we see every year is John Blue. Do you see the little guy in the stroller? Well, that's John Blue!!! Let me tell you about him!

We met John Blue three years ago at Kentucky Crafted before he was ever born! That's right, he was still in his Mommy's tummy! Well, the next year his parents came back to Kentucky Crafted and brought John Blue so we could meet him! Every year, our favorite part of Kentucky Crafted is John Blue's visit!!! (Don't worry. We didn't give John Blue any of our dog food either!)

Whew, it is tough for a wiener dog to type everything that happened! We are going to put some photos up on our photo page, so stay tuned!!!

I better run! Mommy, Daddy, Chloe and I are making a presentation at a conference in Lousiville. We get to go downtown! We love going downtown to see all the sights of the city! It is pretty stormy here today so we might not get to take a walk. I guess we will just look out the window!

Have a great day! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Happy Birthday, Dear Woody!

Hi Friends! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Our family is sure celebrating today! Today is my brother Woody's birthday. He is seven years old. We all woke Woody up this morning with lots of kisses and hugs. He was so happy! He smiled and laughed and giggled all day! Of course Mommy made his favorite meal - chicken and dumplings with sugar cookies for dessert! It was "doglicious", as Woody says!

It was so nice to be home today. We have had a very busy week and have enjoyed every minute of our time in the schools. Yesterday, we were at Taylorsville Elementary. If you look at the first picture, you will see that Mommy is holding Woody. The students at Taylorsville sang "Happy Birthday" to Woody yesterday. If you remember from reading "Tails...", two ladies from Louisville, Kentucky wrote "Happy Birthday" in 1893. Woody sure enjoyed hearing it yesterday from the students and today from his family!

The second picture is from Williamstown Elementary in Grant County. This is a photo of our friend, Coleman. Coleman is the young man who painted the beautiful picture of Woody. It was great to see Coleman and so many students from Grant County.

I better say goodnight. Tomorrow we will be at Medora Elementary. We have to go to bed early. I am sure that Woody will write tomorrow to tell you all the details of his birthday! He also has some neat stories from our schools this week as well as a riddle!

In the words of the Birthday Boy, "Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!"

Hugs!

Chloe
