Where does the time go?

Hey Friends! It's me, Woody, your long lost friend. Sorry I haven't written in a while. Sometimes our days get so busy that it is tough to get to the computer. Other days, Chloe and I get to the computer, but we spend our time playing with that mouse and never get to writing in our diary!

Our days have been busy, but as usual, very entertaining. This past Saturday, Chloe, Mom, Dad, and I spent time in Lebanon, KY. The Hope Community Church invited us to the Spring View Nursing Home. It is always exciting to be with people of all different ages. We heard neat stories from long ago and made a whole new group of friends. We wanted to share a few photos with you. Chloe and I made a promise to visit the nursing homes more often. The residents always love having company, and Chloe and I always love being rubbed!

I better go. It is getting late and Mom and Dad are ready to tuck Chloe and me into bed. I am so sleepy.

Goodnight! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A day with the Family!

Well, not necessarily my family, but still a family!

Arff, Arff! Hi WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I hope you are having a terrific day! We are home today catching up on some much needed work, and rest too!

Saturday, the four of us were in Monticello, KY. That is in Wayne County and is located in the bottom part of our state - almost in Tennessee. It was exciting for us to visit Wayne County for the very first time. We met so many people - lots of whom had a wiener dog too! In fact, we met Odie's mom, and Oscar's mom, just to name a few! In fact, one big family came to see us. You can see them in the second photo. We told them if they wanted to use that photo for their Christmas card, they could. Chloe rolled her eyes when I said that, but I thought it was a super idea!

I better go. Chloe and I have had lots of emails to answer lately, so I need to get to work! Don't forget to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Everybody say "Cheese!"

Good Saturday morning, Woodywatchers! It is early for a Saturday, but Chloe and I are up and at it. In fact, we just ate our breakfast of bacon and are ready to do our chores. We always have chores to do - especially on Saturday. Mommy does the laundry, Daddy mows the yard, and Chloe and I pick up our toys and straighten our toy box. Mommy always makes me clean out under the bed too since I love to carry all my toys under Mommy and Daddy's bed. After our chores, it will be time to watch Lassie on T.V.

We had another great week! On Thursday, we were in McKee, KY - that is in Jackson County. We met so many new faces! It was exciting that lots of the kids and adults brought pictures of their own pups to show us. We always love that! Speaking of photos, I made a mistake by forgetting to pack my camera in my Scooby backpack before I left. We were so disappointed! I wanted to show photos of our trip, but no camera. So, if you have photos from Jackson County, please email them to me at woody@thewoodybooks.com. I am confident somebody has pictures because Chloe and I said "Cheese" over and over that day! We can't wait to see your photos! We will get them on the web.

I better say "Arff!" I have chores waiting for me! Enjoy your Saturday. Stay cool and remember to clean out your toys from under the bed! Oh, and don't forget to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A day with the Brady Bunch!

Good Sunday, WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I hope you are having beautiful weather wherever you are today. It is gorgeous here. In fact, we are getting ready to go outside and stretch our legs! Hopefully we will find some butterflies to chase or some dandelions to pick! After Sunday School, we had a nice lunch of fried chicken. DOGlicious! Then we watched several episodes of the Brady Bunch. They are having a marathon on TV Land. We love the Brady family. In the last episode Chloe and I watched, Bobby rescued a cat from a tree. Chloe and I were so scared for that kitty cat. Every time it meowed, we barked.

Yesterday, Mom, Dad, Chloe and I spent the day at Maddy's Bookstore in Danville, KY. We had a blast. We always have fun at Maddy's. Each time we go, we see so many of our friends, and meet lots of new ones. We had tons of people and even one monkey. It was a stuffed animal, but I was in love. The monkey was with Colby. I told Colby if the monkey ever needed a new home to give us a call. Mommy said maybe Santa could bring me one for Christmas. Everyone knows how much I love the monkey I already have. In fact, I included one of my favorite pictures of the two of us.

If Maddy's wasn't exciting enough, when we stopped in Bardstown for dinner, we ran into some friends from Northern Kentucky. They had seen us in their school a year or so ago. They came up to Mommy and said, "Hey, aren't you Woody and Chloe's mom?" It was fun to spend some time with them.

Well, I better go. I think I will catch another episode of the Brady Bunch before we head outside to pick dandelions. Have a super Sunday! Enjoy the weather, and don't forget to "Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!"

Good Saturday!

Good Saturday Morning! Hope everyone is up and watching their favorite cartoons! Dad and Chloe are already in the car waiting for Mommy and me. We are off to Maddy's Bookstore in Danville for a signing, so no Scooby Doo for me this morning. That's okay! We love our friends in Danville.

Yesterday we were in Whitley City. That's in McCreary County. It is in the very southern part of our state. In fact, it is only about 10 miles north of Tennessee. It was too fun! I wanted to show you a photo.

I better run. I would hate to get left at home.

Berea, Benton, and Points in Between

Kentucky Greetings! Hey Friends! Hope this blog finds you having a great day. Chloe and I are enjoying our first day off in a week. We have been traveling all around this past week. We have been to Georgetown, Berea, Benton, Lexington, just to name a few places. We wanted to show you some photos from our travels.

Since it is our day off, we are resting, but we also have some errands to run with Mommy. For instance, we have to go to the library and return some books. Mommy said maybe we could stop off and get an ice cold lemonade. I sure hope so!

I better run. I will be sure to post more photos soon!

Drink lots of water! Remember to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Hot Dogs in Hancock County

HotDiggetyDog WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a super day! We also hope you are staying cool in this hot weather. Chloe and I have been drinking plenty of water. An ice cold glass of lemonade or a cherry PUPscicle sounds pretty yummy too! The weather has been either really hot or really rainy! In fact, Tuesday we were in Hawesville and it rained cats and wiener dogs!!! It poured, but the rain didn't stop the fun with the kids from the Hancock County Library!!! Here are a few photos with Mommy and two of our new friends!

On Wednesday we were in Kenton County at the Wild Wednesday program. It was exciting. The Cincinnati Zoo was there too. There were lots of neat animals like a hedgehog and even a python!!! Chloe and I stayed away from the snake though!

Tomorrow we will be in Scott County. If you are in the area, come on out and see us! I better pack my Scooby backpack! I will keep you posted!

We're Back!

Hey WoodyWatchers! Sorry I haven't written in almost a month! June was so busy for Chloe and me. In fact, we were in so many places, we couldn't keep up! We made 27 presentations in 16 days!!! We had a blast and met so many new friends!

Last week, Mom, Dad, Chloe, and I were on vacation all week long. It was perfect. We slept late, ate our favorite foods, took long naps, watched Lassie and Scooby on t.v., and of course read our favorite books. Today was our first day back at work. It felt great to work again. We were in Grayson County at the park with friends of the Summer Reading Program.

Now that we are back in full swing of things, I will be sure to write every few days. I better run for now. It is almost lunch time and Chloe and I are starved!

A day in London - Kentucky, that is!

Happy Friday, WoodyWatchers! Where in the world has the week gone? It has flown by for Chloe and me. Our week has been filled with lots of travel and library visits. Yesterday we were in London, Ky at the Laurel County Public Library. It was a beautiful building that was only three years old. Mommy reminded us to remember our manners while in the new building. "Woody, no accidents today!" Well, thankfully I was a good boy and didn't have one single accident! But, that wasn't the best part of the day! The best part was all the people we met.

Ms. Karen, Ms. Leah, and Ms. Mary of the library made us feel so welcomed. In addition, we were able to see so many friends! All of the friends who came gave us lots of love, rubs, and even doggie treats. That was a good thing since I was starving!

We wanted to show you this photo of our new buddies. This is Joseph, Katherine, and Jimbo. The three of them were great ear and belly rubbers. While Mommy was signing books, Joseph kept me occupied with milk bones. I knew I liked that guy from the minute I saw him!

Today, Mom, Dad, Chloe, and I will be in Goshen. We can already tell it is going to be a super day. It is only 7:00 a.m., but the sun is shining so brightly that Chloe and I are wearing our sunglasses inside our house!

I better say goodbye. Don't forget to wear your sunglasses and your sunscreen, and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Two Posts in One Day!

Hi Friends! Remember when I was telling you how Chloe and I were going to have company? Well, here they are. Meet Sam and Jack. Sam and Jack live in Maryland. Mommy and Daddy love their grandparents! Well, since Sam and Jack were in town visiting their grandparents, Chloe and I got to meet them. We were immediately best friends.

Sam and Jack have a dog named Lucy Lou. Sam wants to go to Murray State University -the same college Mommy went to! Isn't that neat? We thought so too!

Sam and Jack also got to meet our brothers and sisters. Rio, our older brother loved how Sam and Jack through sticks in the lake so he could fetch! I asked Mom if we could visit Maryland one day. She said Maryland was a long way away, but we would see!

Whew! What an exciting day! I better say goodbye for now. Chloe just told me that Lassie is coming on TV. After that, it will be bedtime.

Have a great night! Don't forget to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

The Library in CrestWOODY

Hey WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I hope you have enjoyed your Tuesday. Let me just say that we have put lots of miles on the Woody Bus this week. Yesterday we were in Tompkinsville with the kids of the Monroe County Public Library. Today, we were closer to home in Oldham County, Kentucky. That's right - we were at the South Oldham Library Branch in Crestwood, or CrestWOODY as I like to call it! There were so many kids, and Chloe and I loved meeting each one of them!

We were thrilled to be able to see our friends Maddie, Zachary, and Ethan. Their dad manages our online doghouse - www.thewoodybooks.com. You can see Maddie, Zachary, and Ethan, along with their mom in the second photo. We also included the photo of Maddie with my paw print on her face. It looks great, doesn't it???

As you can see, it was an exciting day. We will be at the other two branches of the Oldham County Library this week, so if you are anywhere close, please come and see us!

Well, I better go. Chloe and I are going to have company later. Two boys from Maryland who have been reading about us are in our town. They are coming to our house to meet us. Chloe and I can't wait. I better go brush my teeth and comb my hair.

I will write again soon! Be sure to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A Saturday in Shelbyville

Good Saturday, WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I hope each of you have had a super day. Usually on Saturday, Chloe and I sleep late, watch Scooby Doo, and play with our favorite toys. Well, today was a work day for Chloe, Mom, Dad, and me. But you know what? It was better than a day off. We spent the day in Shelbyville at the Friends of the Library Book Fair. We saw so many of our friends, as well as met many new ones. Chloe and I know one thing for sure and that is that you can never have too many friends - especially good ones like our new friend, Lexie.

Lexie came all the way from Lexington to see Chloe and me. We immediately fell in love with her. I learned very quick that Lexie was a terrific ear scratcher and belly rubber! I asked Lexie if she would come on the road with us and become our official ear scratcher, belly rubber, and fan club president. Her mommy said that she should finish kindergarten first. That's a good idea!

After the library visit, we headed back home. Chloe and I slept most of the way while Daddy drove. Working on Saturday can be exhausting! Anyway, we are back home now, have had our dinner, and are almost ready for a bedtime story and snack. So, I better say goodnight for now. Chloe and I hope you all have sweet dreams!

Next week, we will be on the road Monday through Friday, so stay tuned as we tell you all about our travels. In the meantime, make new friends, listen to your parents, and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Busy in Butler County!

Hey WoodyWatchers! Hope you have had a super week! Today is Friday and Chloe and I have the day off. We have been so busy lately, so a day off is a treat. After our chores, we are going to play outside, read our favorite books, and take a nap. Mom said we could watch Lassie on TV today too! We are excited.

The great part about our job? Well, it doesn't seem like a job. It is so exciting to travel around, visit libraries in the summer, and meet so many new faces. Yesterday we were at the Butler County Public Library in Morgantown, KY. When we walked in and saw our cool doghouse, we knew we were right at home. They even had paw prints on the floor welcoming us. We hope you enjoy the photos! By the way, how many people were in my doghouse???

Speaking of photos, check the photo page of our website soon. We will be adding a photo album that has over 100 new pictures! You might just see yourself! Also, check our tour page to see if we will be in your backyard this summer. We would all love to see you.

Well, I better go. Chloe said that Mom and Dad have breakfast ready for us, and you all know how I love to eat! Have a wonderful day! Stay cool, wear your sunscreen, and WORK AND DREAM LIKE A BIG DOG!

Goodbye May, Hello June!

Kentucky Greetings, WoodyWatchers! Hope you have had a super May and are ready for June. Chloe and I can't believe how fast the year is going by. Where does time go?

We have been super busy hot dogs lately, but have enjoyed every minute of it! Today we were at the Garrard County Public Library in Lancaster, KY. We always have a terrific time being with everyone in Lancaster. In fact, each year we make a visit to their library because we love them so much! It is always fun to see our friends and make new ones too!

The first picture is of me dressed up as a dog. The nice ladies at the library made these neat little masks for everyone who came today. They even gave me a mask. It was fun to dress up like a dog! Arff!

The second photo is of our new friends Rachel and Rebbeca. Can you tell they are twins? Can you tell which one is which? Me either!

As you can tell, today was very fun! Tomorrow we will be in Lee County. We will post some pictures and tell you all about it. In the meantime, stay cool in the hot weather, make sure you and your pets drink plenty of water, and as always, "Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!"

Pennies from Vine Grove

Arff, Arff, WoodyWatchers! I hope you are enjoying the warm weather wherever you are. Chloe and I love playing outside in the sunshine with Mom and Dad!

Sorry I didn't write in my diary much last week. We were gone almost all week long. The first part of the week started out in my birthplace of Paducah. We were with the students at Reidland Elementary. We left Reidland and traveled clear across the state to Ashland, where we spent two days in the school. We returned home around midnight on Friday. Chloe and I slept late on Saturday, trying to catch up on our sleep. We slept so late, that we almost missed Scooby Doo! We aren't used to staying up late. We are usually in the bed by 8:00, so midnight was strange!

Yesterday, was a treat for Chloe and me. We spent some time with Ms. Whelan's class at Vine Grove Elementary in Hardin County. The News Enterprise Newspaper in Hardin County held a penny drive to raise money. They wanted to collect money so they could keep delivering the newspapers to students in the schools. Well, Ms. Whelan's class was the class that collected the most pennies! Isn't that cool??? Chloe and I sure thought so. Anyway, to show our appreciation, we spent time with the class. I have included a few photos. The first is of Ms. Whelan with Mom, Chloe, and me. The second picture is of the entire class. They all gave Chloe and me lots of love and hugs. Chloe was so relaxed that she slept in class for a while. Finally she woke up, and then kissed most of the students! Anyway, as you can see, it was a terrific way to spend an afternoon!

Hip, Hip Hooray, Ms. Whelan's class! Hip, Hip Hooray! Thanks for all your hard work!

Well, I better run. Mommy says we have to finish our breakfast and pick up our toys. We are off today so Mom is going to take us to the library so we could check out some books! I am getting ready to get my library card out for the trip!

Have a great day! Remember to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A Reading Celebration

Greetings, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a super day! By the way, Happy Belated Mother's Day! Sorry we didn't blog on Mother's Day. We were busy making breakfast for our Mommy. It took Chloe and me all day to make it and all night to clean up the kitchen. Who knew cereal could be so tough???

This past Friday, the four of us had the pleasure of being a part of the 8th Annual Clay County Reading Celebration. We saw so many of our friends - including Jordan. We met Jordan several years ago when we were at a UK football game. In fact, Mommy found the first photo of us from a few years ago. Well, guess who was at the Reading Celebration? You guessed it! Jordan! If you look at the second picture, that is Jordan with us again. Hasn't she grown up? She was so pretty as a young girl, and still beautiful now! She had to tell us who she was. She had grown so much that we didn't even recognize her! It is always fun to see old friends - and meet new ones.

In fact, the third picture is of a new friend we met at the Reading Celebration. This young lady loved Chloe and me. She also loved our books. Aren't new friends great?

Well, I better go. Daddy is mowing the yard since it is our day off. Chloe and I are going to help him pick up sticks. I may have to put on my sweater. It is chilly today.

Have a great day. Stay warm, tell your Mommy you love her every day - not just Mother's Day, and Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

A day at Dewitt

"Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Another Day!"

Hi WoodyWatchers! Chloe and I have been looking out the window, watching it rain. It has been pouring. Daddy said it was "raining cats and dogs", but Chloe and I haven't seen any fall out of the sky yet! We will keep you posted. Rainy days are nice though. It gives us a chance to catch up on our work indoors - as well as a nap!

We certainly needed a nap today since we arrived home late last night. We had been in Knox County at Dewitt Elementary. It was such an exciting day! Everyone was so friendly and very fun! The first picture is of us with Mrs. Smith and Ms. Lee. They arranged everything for us. It was easy to see they are terrific teachers. They love the kids and also fell in love with us!

The next picture is of Ms. Carnes. She and her class gave Chloe and me a little toy. We loved it. You all know how much I love toys! You can even see me licking my lips in the last picture, ready to play!

Tomorrow we will be in Greenup County. We can't wait to hop in the Woody Bus again and hit the road. As usual, I will keep you posted!

Have a great day. If you go outside, take an umbrella. Be sure to email me if you see any cats and dogs falling from the sky! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

My new friend, Ernie!

Good Monday, WoodyWatchers! Hope you are having a super day! Mom, Dad, Chloe, and I are loading the Woody Bus to travel to DeWitt Elementary in Knox County. We are looking forward to meeting our new friends!

One of the things I packed first for the trip was Ernie. Ernie and I have been having a great time together. He is a gift from Mrs. Frye and her students at Pembroke Elementary in Christian County. When we were in their class a few months ago, I could hardly concentrate because they had an Ernie in their room. I kept wanting to play with him. Well, just last week I received a package in the mail and guess what it was? You got it! It was letters from Mrs. Frye's students and Ernie. I love carrying him around with me, and tucking him in every night to sleep with me. He has always been my very favorite from Sesame Street! Hugs and kisses to Mrs. Frye and her students for giving me Ernie!

I think I hear Mommy calling me, so I better say "so long for now!" Have a great day. Be sure to check the site in a few days so I can tell you all about DeWitt!

People in Pikeville Love Pepsi!

Hi Friends! Hope you have had a sun-shiny day at your house today. It was so beautiful here today. Chloe and I had some time to stretch our legs in the green grass. It was a nice day to be outside.

We just ate our supper. Mommy said that since we had worked hard today, we could stay up and watch the results of American Idol. Chloe and I love American Idol, but we hate it on Wednesday nights when someone has to leave the show. Chloe usually sheds a tear or two, but don't tell her I told you.

We had a great time in Pike County. Everytime we travel through Pike County, we always try to say the riddle "People in Pikeville Love Pepsi!" It is fun to try to say it fast. That is actually a fact. Pikeville holds a record for how much Pepsi Cola they drink each year!

Though we were in Pike County, we weren't in Pikeville, but were in a place called Ransom at Blackberry Elementary. Ransom was almost in West Virgina. The school actually set on the site of the original feud between the Hatfields and McCoys. It was a beautiful school with wonderful students, an excellent staff, and a neat principal. For lunch, Mom, Dad, Chloe and I ate pizza and cake with the top accelerated readers in the school. It was a treat - and that pizza was yummy! We included some pictures so you could see. Even though I just ate dinner, I would love another piece of that doglicious pizza and cake from yesterday!

Anyway, I better say goodnight for now. It is almost time for our show, then a bedtime story, then off to bed! Have a great night! Remember to Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!

Good Tuesday Evening!

Good Tuesday Evening! Mom, Dad, Chloe, and I returned from Pike County, KY a few hours ago. We had a great day at Blackberry Elementary. I have lots of pictures to post and I can't wait to tell you all about our day! We returned home just in time to see one of our favorite shows - American Idol. Everyone knows how Chloe and I love to sing. It is so much fun to hear the contestant's songs each week. Mommy even lets Chloe and me vote for one person each week. It is a secret who we vote for, so "mums" the word!!!

Our friend, Mrs. Kay sent Mommy this picture. It is of Mommy, Mrs. Kay, and Chaz. Mrs. Kay and Mommy taught school together at Southwest Elementary. Chaz was one of their students. In fact, Mommy had Chaz in music class. He is graduating this year. Mom is so proud of Chaz and his accomplishments. Anyway, we thought you might like to see this picture. It is fun for Chloe and me to imagine Mommy as a music teacher.

I better go. Traveling home from Pike County made us tired. It is time for bed. I will write again tomorrow and tell you all about Blackberry Elementary!

Sleep tight! Work and Dream like a BIG DOG!
